NATUROPATHY
AT THE VERUS BONIFATIUS CLINICWHAT ARE NATUROPATHIC TREATMENTS?
The term naturopathy is a relatively broadly defined term. It encompasses all methods and treatments that support the body’s own powers of self-healing and therefore dispense with technological aids. Naturopathy relies on adjuvants that can be obtained from nature, such as light or food. Contrary to what most people expect, naturopathic treatments are not in opposition to conventional medicine, they merely complement it with further, supportive treatment options.
FOR WHICH DISEASES CAN NATUROPATHIC TREATMENTS BE USED?
Natural therapies are largely based on a holistic approach. This means that naturopaths are always trying to heal the whole organism. Here, the most important goal of naturopathy is to activate the body’s self-healing powers. Among the most complex fields of treatment in natural medicine are complaints that arise from a lack of exercise, fresh air or the accumulation of stress. Here – with exercise in the fresh air – engagement with nature is said to be beneficial for the body’s self-healing process.
WHAT IS THE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF NATUROPATHIC TREATMENTS?
The history of naturopathic treatments goes back to ancient Greece. Already at that time, nature was mentioned as the healing component of a sick person. At that time, a doctor was only considered a practitioner, but nature was considered a healing force. Today’s most widely used standard work on naturopathy by Friedrich Eduard Bilz dates from 1888.
TO WHAT EXTENT CAN NATUROPATHIC TREATMENTS ACHIEVE AN EFFECT?
Natural therapies are used in psychotherapy to support traditional therapies. They can help improve the patient’s overall health and well-being and support healing. Examples of natural therapies that can be used in psychotherapy are acupuncture, aromatherapy and massage.
The effectiveness of the natural therapies we offer in our clinic is just as proven as that of conventional medicine.
